The Warrandyte Mechanics Institute Hall is available to the community to book for social events, arts-related activities and stage productions, subject to availability.

[While we can accomodate occasional commercial events if there are no community-related bookings, this will generally be on a one-off basis only.]

Booking fees

Please find below the fee schedule for booking the Warrandyte Mechanics Hall. Please note that all payments made includes a 50% non-refundable deposit.

Casual Hall Hire: $55/hour
(1 hour minimum Monday to Friday and 2 hour minimum on weekends. Capped at $440/day)

Regular Hall Hire (>10 bookings a year): $30/hour
(Classes and groups - bookings are in 1 hour blocks)

Hall Hire for Function/Event: $440
(8 hour booking plus setup time)

Bond: $400
Casual Hall Hires must also pay a refundable bond of $400. This must be paid at the time of booking and will be returned within 7 days after event.

Notes about booking the hall

The hall provides free access to its projector (and amplifier and speakers) via a HDMI socket, and also the hall amplifier and speakers via a Bluetooth connection.

Use of specialist technical equipment requires in-person technician support at all times: extra charges apply.

Use of the hall’s other AV equipment (e.g. microphones, mixing desk, lighting) is only permitted if the hall’s technician is in attendance at all times — please ask the Secretary for more information on the additional fees this entails.

ACCESS TO BACK STAGE AREA behind the main stage curtains is NOT PERMITTED without the explicit approval of the Secretary.
